Specialist areas: Borneo, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Bhutan, Oman, Myanmar, Maldives, India My fondest memory is of being surrounded by traditionally dressed hill tribe children whilst trekking around the incredibly picturesque village of Sapa in North Vietnam. They shrieked in delight as they realised I could capture their image on a digital camera and then show it to them, reminding me of how happy they seemed without the need for modern technology. In their excitement I was given a chunk of raw sugar cane to chew on while I admired the surrounding rice terraces and views of Mount Fansipan. |

Specialist areas: China, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand , Laos, Indonesia, Maldives One of my favourite experiences in travel was making the intrepid journey to Komodo Island in East Indonesia. After the six hour journey through some seriously tempestuous waters, the rugged island of Komodo came into view. After a short trek into the hills, we came across a magnificent two metre long Komodo Dragon, a modern day dinosaur roaming the lost world of Komodo Island. Later we went to red beach and snorkeled over the most pristine and diverse coral reef I have ever seen. An amazing day of adventure and natural wonder. |

Specialist areas: India, Nepal, Bhutan One of my earliest travel memories is from the Cardamom Hills in Kerala, South India. Walking through the cardamom, clove and vanilla plantations, we arrived at our picnic spot on the banks of a gushing river swollen with the monsoon rains. My initial fright turned to absolute delight as we watched a herd of wild elephants frolicking on the opposite bank! |

Specialist areas: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, China, Thailand, Vietnam One of my favourite destinations has to be Inle Lake in Myanmar. Here you can spend an enjoyable day cruising on the lake with the picturesque blue tinted Shan hills in the distance, visiting various lakeside temples, stilt villages and watching the fisherman famous for their one legged rowing technique! Afternoons can be spent sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake with only of the sound of the water lapping and birds singing – a peaceful and tranquil haven. |
