Art Fund
Specialtours, now part of The Ultimate Travel Company, have been arranging exclusive Art Fund Tours for over 35 years, offering like-minded people the opportunity to travel together to some of the world's most fascinating art and architecturally rich cities.
The Art Fund, an independent charity that exists to save great works of art for the nation and helps museums and galleries buy, show and share great art. In fact, more than 600 museums, galleries, castles and historic houses throughout the UK have had their collections enriched by works acquired due to Art Fund grants. The work of the Art Fund relies upon the generosity and commitment of its supporters, including 92,000 members who all own a National Art Pass, as well as corporate supporters, funding from trusts and foundations, and support from patrons and patrons circle members. The Ultimate Travel Company is delighted to add their support, through Specialtours, by donating between 5% and 10% of the cost of each Art Fund Tour.
The tours themselves explore a diverse range of art forms - from decorative Portuguese tiles to the symbolist art works of Edvard Munch, and showcase the cultural highlights and natural beauty of each spectacular location - from the gilded ceiling of Istanbul's Haghia Sophia to the breath-taking vistas of the Amalfi Coast. With private access visits organised by special arrangement and the presence of expert guest lecturers, the tours provide a privileged insight into the art and architecture of each destination.
If you are not already a member of the Art Fund, but would like to travel on one of their tours, you will receive one year's complimentary annual membership (worth £50 for a single membership) with your first booking. Your membership includes a National Art Pass Fund, giving you free entry to over 200 museums, galleries and historic properties across the UK.
