Denwa Backwater Escape, Satpura National Park

Surveying the scenic backwaters of the Denwa River, Denwa Backwater Escape is an intimate safari lodge ideally situated on the edge of Satpura National Park.

The lodge’s tranquil location, combined with beautiful views over the river, grasslands and Pachmari hills, make it a great option for those seeking a more intimate wilderness experience in central India. Across the river lies Satpura National Park where you can enjoy safaris in search of white bison, Indian giant squirrels, sambar, leopards and the elusive tiger. Other available activities include bird watching, walking safaris, boat cruises and village walks.

Constructed from locally sourced materials like wood, stone and baked tiles, the design of the lodge is modern whilst local textiles and handcrafted furniture add colour and character. There are just eight cottages and two tree houses in total, all featuring classic safari-style furniture and crisp cotton upholstery. Cottages also have private terraces where you can enjoy a sleep-out under the stars. The lodge has a superb swimming pool, ideal for a refreshing dip in between safari activities. Denwa Backwater
