This small, informal, family-run hotel has become a well-established landmark on Lamu's best beach, and is the perfect place to relax after a safari or to escape from every day life.

None of its 24 rooms are alike, but all are beautifully appointed and have views of the ocean or lush gardens, some being right on the beach. The food here is both varied and delicious and the bar is a popular local watering hole. A free form swimming pool lies under two Baobab trees, and the Indian Ocean is only yards away with dhow sailing, fishing and snorkelling on tap.
