Suitable for couples and families alike, the resort accommodates just 38 guests in attractive and individual rooms and cottages. Set in lush, shady tropical gardens, each has its own character and is stylishly furnished and decorated with Swahili handicrafts and antiquities. There are beautiful spots around the grounds where guests can retire to spend time alone, or alternatively enjoy company in the library or one of the living rooms. The sun setting over the mountains, best viewed from one of the water towers, is spectacular.

Kinondo Kwetu is renowned for its cuisine, which benefits from locally produce, fruits and vegetables. Three-course lunches and dinners are served al fresco, with fresh fish and seafood being natural favourites.

Guests can chose to simply relax and soak up the sun - two pools and the unspoiled white sand beach assure guests of privacy - or avail themselves of the spa, which offers a variety of treatments, yoga and a sauna. For the more energetic, an impressive range of exciting activities include kite surfing, deep sea fishing, outrigger sailing, scuba diving and snorkelling, game drives in the Shimba Hills in search of wildlife, tennis, local excursions and golf on a nearby course. Kinondo also has its own stables and experienced riders could explore the neighbouring protected holy forest or canter along the beach.
