The Limpopo Valley Riding Safari
‘Big country’ riding through Botswana’s Tuli Block
The Limpopo Valley runs through the heart of Botswana’s Tuli Block, an undisturbed wilderness of big skies and vast panoramas in the remote south-eastern reaches of the country. The diverse terrain is custom-made for a riding safari.
Riding here is not for the faint-hearted, and appropriate experience is required. Apart from regular encounters with elephant and lion, a typical day might involve exhilarating gallops along dry riverbeds, hurdling fallen trees and negotiating the steep inclines of the Limpopo’s banks.
The horses are well schooled and tough enough to handle the difficult terrain that can be encountered in the Limpopo Valley. The safari is escorted throughout by a professional guide, and is fully ‘mobile’ with the comfortable camp moved ahead each day by vehicle. It ends with a few days’ game viewing in the ruggedly beautiful Mashatu Reserve.
