Kenya
Kenya has some of the world’s greatest game reserves (such as the Masai Mara, Tsavo, Samburu) which are home to an infinite array of wildlife from zebra to antelope, elephant to cheetah, lion to leopard. Some of this wildlife has even been immortalised in print, such as the infamous ‘Man-eaters of Tsavo’ or Elsa of ‘Born Free’ fame.
But Kenya is not just about safari. It has an impressive coastline with white sandy beaches and some excellent hotels ranging from large beachfront properties with extensive facilities to small and intimate barefoot luxury. There are also other adventures to be experienced such as climbing Africa’s second highest mountain, Mount Kenya at just under 5,200m or maybe a camel trek in northern Kenya.
With a pleasant climate, Kenya suits many different types of travelers but is ideally suited for a family holiday with its good range of child friendly lodges and superb beach hotels.
