Greystoke, Mahale

Greystoke, Mahale

Framed by the beautiful Mahale Mountains, which rise behind the camp, Greystoke Mahale sits below a huge tropical forest on a far-flung beach along the eastern shores of Lake Tanganyika. The lush slopes are home to the worlds largest known population of chimpanzees.

The focal point of the camp is the bar/dining area, which is loosely modelled on traditional Tongwe architecture, whilst the six beautiful suites are housed in wildly exotic wooden bandas looking out across the beach. Activities include treks through the rainforest to see chimpanzees, and the opportunity to observe leopard, bushbuck, bushpig, a multitude of birds and butterflies.
