Highlights of Namibia

From the Namib Desert to the Etosha Pans

Using a self-drive vehicle is the ideal way to see the natural wonders of this vast country at your own pace. It is both safe and reliable, and Namibia boasts one of the best road networks in Africa.

You begin with the drive west from Windhoek, across the Gamsberg Pass to rise to a staggering 300 metres. You then follow the coastal road north to the colonial town of Swakopmund and the seal colonies at Cape Cross, before heading inland through the savage mountain grandeur of Damaraland to Khorixas, famous for its rock paintings and extraordinary terrain. Following three days of spectacular game viewing on the plains of the Etosha National Park, you return to Windhoek via the unspoiled wilderness of the Waterberg Plateau.
