Southern Tanzania Safari

Southern Tanzania Safari

From the wilds of the Selous and Ruaha to the coast that faces the glittering Indian Ocean.

Southern Tanzania is a quintessential East African wilderness, untamed by man and teeming with game. This journey focuses on the region, along with the Indian Ocean coast, offering a choice of camps ranging from the simple to the sophisticated.

The Selous has a diverse landscape, from the mixed habitat of the western sector - forested hills and open woodland to marshland lakes linked by ‘sand rivers’, to the game-rich plains bordering Lake Nzerekerea in the northeastern sector. Each supports a great diversity of wildlife. Many overlook the beautiful and unspoiled Ruaha National Park, but its red-ochre earth, waving grasslands scattered with massive baobabs, wide sand rivers, panoramic views and abundant wildlife are hugely rewarding. The safari ends with a few days on a beautiful stretch of Tanzania’s unspoilt coastline.
