Reefs and Rainforests

This exciting tour explores the ancient sights of Java, the jungles and wildlife of Indonesian Borneo, the spectacular Mount Bromo and the idyllic beaches and reefs of Lombok.

The tour begins in Yogyakarta on Java to visit the ancient sites of Borobudur and Prambanan, one of the largest Hindu temples in South-East Asia, before a short flight to Kalimantan (Indonesian Borneo) to trek in the forests of the Tanjung Putting National Park in search of orang utan, other primates, crocodiles, butterflies and rare birds. Overnight in Surabaya before transferring to the spectacular Bromo National Park where volcanoes have emerged from a huge crater, and puffs of smoke rise from the luminous glow of the sulphur. The tour ends with a few days on the paradise island of Lombok, with beautiful white sand beaches and coral reefs.

Jungle treks to find orang utans. Overnights Rimba Lodge.  Day 9: Fly to Surabaya. Overnight Majapahit Hotel.  Days 10/11: Excursion to Mt Bromo. Overnights Java Banana.  Days 12/16: Fly to Mataram. Overnights Tugu Lombok. Day 17/18: Fly to London.
