Begin in Havana, where some five centuries of rich architectural heritage and many fine museums and galleries are to be found in Habana Vieja (Old Havana), along with the haunts of Ernest Hemingway, and the legacy of revolution and Fidel’s Cuba. Then drive south to Trinidad, a beautifully preserved Spanish colonial town with cobbled streets, simple traditional homes and elegant colour-washed houses and mansions full of museum collections. There is also the opportunity to visit the Valle de los Ingenios (Valley of the Sugar Mills), heartland of the 19th century sugar barons, before a relaxing few days at a resort hotel on the beautiful Varadero Beach.
