Mexico

Can a country be symbolised by its native jewellery? When you see Mexico’s turquoise lagoons, silvery white beaches, green jungle and the geometric shapes of its Mayan architecture, you’ll believe it can.

Fiery, spirited cuisine and spiky drinks distilled from cacti. Hot beaches, the warm Gulf of Mexico and cool nightclubs that pulse to the rhythms of Latin America.

Talk to Laura Trace, one of our Mexico experts, about a tailor-made itinerary and your tailored holiday will undoubtedly include time spent stretched out on beautiful beaches. Or exploring the undersea world off Mexico’s Barrier Reef, the world’s largest coral-ringed lagoon. Or swimming with whale sharks off Isla Holbox.

But Laura also has plenty of other suggestions up her sleeve. Take a short drive from the beaches and you’ll be deep in the jungle, surrounded by tapirs, spiny anteaters and opossums. You could watch the antics of any number of exotic birds, or photograph reptiles ranging from tiny frogs to ferocious-looking iguanas.

You could take a private boat trip to see the crocs, manatees and birdlife of Sian Ka’an, or explore a cenote – one of Mexico’s huge natural caverns with stupendous underground cataracts. Or touch the ancient Mayan civilisation at Coba or Palenque…

Mexico is as colourful as its jewellery. Ask Laura.
