Tailor-made Holidays to Ukraine
Not the most obvious choice for a holiday perhaps. But that is one of the Ukraine’s advantages – together with its splendid Black Sea beaches, ongoing history, great cities like Kiev and Odessa, interesting culture…
The Crimea rings loud and ominous bells for historians. Names like Alma, Balaclava and - famously – the Charge of the Light Brigade have rattled British sabres for the past 150 years. But, of course, the Crimea has an unfolding history that stretches back through time – rather like Ukraine itself.
The principal city of Kiev was one of the most important in Eastern Europe and was probably founded in the 5th century. It is known for its fabulous, golden-domed buildings perched beside the mighty Dnieper River, and today the city is a heady mix of the old and the new, great museums and galleries, happening restaurants and an energetic nightlife.
Ask one of our consultants to give you their take on visiting Ukraine and you could well find yourself deep under the awesome Monastery of the Caves, exploring the tunnels excavated by monks in the 11th century. Take some good walking shoes so your feet don’t detract from an astonishing experience!
They can also suggest a tour of the Black Sea coastline. As well as wonderful, almost deserted beaches there is archaeological treasure house at Pontic Olbia, the wonderful Crimean Peninsula and the magical city of Odessa to experience.
