Luxury Holidays to Uzbekistan - The Ultimate Travel Company

Luxury Holidays - Uzbekistan

Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. The ancient cities of the Silk Road. Their names alone evoke the romance of dazzling minarets, timeless mosques, winding alleyways leading to serene, shaded courtyards. The places themselves do not disappoint.

If the East calls you, then you must travel the Silk Road through Uzbekistan to the incredible cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.

You must stand at the centre of Registan Square – Samarkand’s ancient market place – and wonder at the three astonishing Medressas staring down at you.

You must follow in the footsteps of Genghis Khan and be similarly over-awed by the beauty of the Kalon Minaret in Burkhara. The view from its peak down onto the jade green dome of the Miri-Irab Medressa is simply breath-taking.

And you must wander through the tortuous alleyways of historic Khiva with its vast array of intricately tiled palaces, mosques, tombs and medressas – not so much a city, more a living museum with reminders of previous eras leaping out at you at every turning.

Small wonder rulers like Timor, Genghis Khan and Tamerlane the Great were willing to cross steppes and unforgiving deserts to take possession of Uzbekistan.

Ask Jane Robinson – one of our Uzbekistan specialists – for an itinerary and she’ll suggest a holiday that’ll feel like a magic carpet ride back through time.
