A journey through the Kingdom on ‘the roof of the world’
This captivating journey is the perfect introduction to this delightful Kingdom on the ‘roof of the world’, from its diverse and beautiful landscape, to its exquisite monasteries and its carefully preserved traditions.
After a spectacular flight across the Himalaya to Paro, a peaceful farming community in western Bhutan, you travel east through the central valleys and mountains to Punakha, Wangdiphodrang and Trongsa, each boasting an impressive dzong, or fortified monastery.
You continue to Bumthang, Bhutan’s most sacred valley with its myriad dzongs, gompas and temples, and a way of life largely unchanged for centuries. You return to Paro via the stunningly beautiful Phobjika Valley, winter refuge of the endangered black-necked crane, and the capital Thimphu, where the Royal troupe will entertain you with a spectacular display of Bhutanese dance, the perfect finale to a magical journey.
