A unique journey that combines the iconic sights of Delhi and Agra with the lesser-known treasures of Madya Pradesh in central India.
After a brief stay in Delhi, visit Agra and the majestic Taj Mahal, imposing Agra Fort and astounding 16th century remains of Fatehpur Sikri. Continue to the ancient city of Gwalior with its magnificent fortress, and then the astonishing 1st century Khajuraho temples. Visit Orchha with its vast island palace-fortress and imposing temples, then journey to the charming city of Bhopal, the ancient Buddhist stupa at Sanchi, and the ancient rock shelters at Bhimbetka, famed for their stunning rock art. This fascinating journey ends with a stay in a wonderful 18th century fort in the village of Maheshwar, and a visit to Mandu, a 15th century marvel of early Islamic architecture.
