Everest and Kala Pattar
Through the heart of the Khumbu to the foot of Everest.
This shorter 16-day trek, comfortably paced for steady acclimatisation, provides some of the best high altitude trekking in Nepal together with the most magnificent mountain scenery and views of Everest.
After a spectacular flight to the village of Lukla, it is a two-day walk to Namche Bazaar, trading capital of the Khumbu. You continue through the beautiful Sherpa villages of Khunde and Khumjung to Thyangboche, with its famous hilltop monastery and magnificent view of Ama Dablam and the summit of Everest itself rising high above the Nuptse-Lhotse wall.
At Pangboche Gompa Lamas guard relics of what they claim to be the legendary Yeti, and your imagination might wander whilst climbing through increasingly rugged and dramatic scenery towards Kala Pattar for the classic view of Everest and the Khumbu Icefall pouring from the snows of the Western Cwm.
