You begin in Tripoli with its vibrant Medina, Italianate architecture, National Museum filled with exquisite treasures and the magnificent Roman remains at Sabratha and Leptis Magna, before journeying south to the ancient oasis town of Ghadames with its labyrinthine alleyways and richly decorated houses. You continue south, deep into the spectacular desert landscape of oases, dunes, mountains and rock escarpments in Fezzan, where the distinctive, nomadic Tuareg have created beautiful rock art and wall paintings over many millenia.

Returning north, you travel along the beautiful coastline of Cyrenaica to the well-preserved Greek, Roman and Byzantine remains at Cyrene and Apollonia - a fitting finale to this amazing journey.
