Manu Wildlife Center, Peru

Located in the wild and remote Manu wilderness of Peru on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, the Center is at the heart of a private 40,000-hectare reserve that forms part of the world-famous Manu Biosphere. The lodge lies in an area of pristine rainforest with more wildlife species than anywhere else in Manu.

The 22 comfortable, rustic raised bungalows are set in an Amazonian garden, and built in the indigenous style with local wood, bamboo and palm fronds. There are miles of trails through the rainforest where tapir can be seen, two canopy towers / platforms strategically located to attract monkeys and a panoply of brightly coloured birds, and visits to the Blanquillo macaw and parrot lick with its floating blinds.
