Our adventure in Sabah and Sarawak includes the best of Malaysian Borneo, from a jungle longhouse to a mountain summit and an island nature reserve.
You begin in the delightful colonial city of Kuching, before driving through plantations to Batang Ai and an exhilarating river journey by longboat through unspoiled jungle to Ulu Ai, to stay in a native longhouse. After flying to Mulu National Park to explore its extraordinary cave systems, you cross into Sabah to visit the tropical island of Lankayan, a paradise for divers and nesting sea turtles alike. Return to Sandakan to visit Borneo's world renowned Orang Utan Sanctuary. Continue to the Kinabatabagan Wildlife Sanctuary, home to a wide variety of wildlife such as the proboscis monkey. Then tackle the exciting two-day ascent of Mount Kinabalu, the highest point in South-East Asia. This remarkable journey ends with a restful two days on the coast.

Explore marine life of the Sulu Sea. Overnights Lankayan Island. Days 12/13: Return to Sandakan. Visit Orang Utan Sanctuary. Explore Gomantong Caves & Sukau Rainforest. Overnights Proboscis Lodge. Day 14: Drive to Kinabalu National Park. Overnight Mountain Lodge. Day 15: Start 2-day ascent of Mount Kinabalu. Overnight Laban Rata Guesthouse. Days 16/17: Descend Mount Kinabalu and drive to coast. Optional excursion to Gaya Island or rafting on Padas River. Overnights Shangri La Rasa Ria. Days 18/19: Fly to London via Kuala Lumpur.
