A ten day northern Kenya wilderness experience, taking in some of Kenya's most spectacular and private reserves.

Featured in ES Magazine on Friday 26th January, A Wild Romance follows in the footsteps of Prince William and Kate taking in some of Kenya's most spectacular and private reserves.

Lewa Wildlife Conservancy "It is an unparalleled place to see game"

Camel riding in Lewa, Kenya

A private 45,000-acre ranch of savannah and bush in the northern foothills of Mount Kenya and not far from Kenya's Northern Frontier town of Isiolo. Cattle and sheep are ranched in perfect harmony with wildlife, which runs free through the area in large numbers. Elephant, zebra, giraffe eland hartebeest, gazelle and lion all inhabit the area. A 10,000-acre paddock provides a sanctuary for rhino. Game viewing is on horseback, by vehicle or on foot. At night you can game drive with a spotlight to look for bush babies, aardvarks, bat-eared foxes, caracals and a host of lesser cats. There is also a Community Project you can visit for a day.

TASSIA LODGE“........Tassia, a lodge set on a high ridge, which sits above the plains like a piece of heaven.”

Tassia Lodge, Kenya  Tassia Lodge, Kenya

Tassia Lodge, on Lekurruki Community Conservation Ranch, which borders Il Ngwesi Ranch, is the latest local community venture, completed in 2001, to help safeguard the wildlife by allowing the Masai to reap the benefits of allowing the wildlife free haven on their land. Tassia gently sprawls over a rocky bluff with a magnificent view over the surrounding Northern Kenya plains and hills. The six double bedrooms have bathrooms ensuite and there is a kid's bunkhouse with three bunk beds and shower room. The lounge/dining area overlooks a stunning swimming pool built into the rocks. No trees were felled to create Tassia, which was built entirely with local materials by the Maasai with conservation and environment foremost in mind. The area offers walking through unspoilt and uninhabited bush, climbing in the Tassia Lugga or wallowing in pools under waterfalls when the river flows following rain.

We can create a similar ten-day tailor-made northern wilderness experience for you, from £4,445 per person. Beginning with three nights at Lewa Wilderness, followed by three at Tassia and a further three at Borana, each stay includes all meals, local drinks and laundry.
