Discovering Cuba
Beaches, cigars and 50's cars, the image that Cuba is so popular for yet on this trip I discovered so much more. The warmth of the people and the Latin rhythm that fill the streets along with the uncommercialised nature of the country made this an unforgettable experience.
My journey started in Havana with its creaking old cars, beautiful colonial buildings and lively street life - After a full day exploring this vibrant city I returned to my hotel for a Mojito on the stunning roof terrace overlooking the Cigar factory and the Capitolio Nacional followed by a typical Cuban evening at Los Nardos a restaurant/bar frequented mainly by the locals.

The next day I was collected from the hotel for my transfer to Varadero. The driver insisted we stop for a break at this random place renowned for its Pina Colada. And he was right that was the best i ever had with fresh coconut & pineapple. After 2 hours drive we arrived to Varadero famous for its white sands and crystal clear waters ready to sample more of the island's attractions from scuba diving, deep sea fishing, a Catamaran trip to an authentic salsa lesson on the beach. It was definitely enough to keep me busy for 5 days.
I loved every minute of it and the best of Cuba is with no doubt its people, traditions and history.
