Today the adventure really begins. Another private transfer brings you to Wilson Airport where you will catch a scheduled light aircraft flight to the Mara, one of the world’s greatest destinations to watch big game. You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to your camp, wonderfully situated near the confluence of the Mara and Talek Rivers. It also sits on the route of the annual migration of over one million wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti – one of nature’s greatest spectacles.
Elephants, lion, rhino, Thomson’s gazelle, cheetah, wild dogs, giraffe, leopards and several species of primate all make a home for themselves in this vast and unfenced wilderness. Day and night game drives led by knowledgeable guides offer incredibly up-close encounters, whilst guided walks are perfect for experiencing the smaller aspects of the bush. Trips to nearby villages are a chance to immerse yourself in the local culture, whilst a hot-air balloon flight over the Mara’s endless plains is sure to take your breath away.
