Today you’ll be transferred to your accommodation at the heart of the Laikipia Plateau where you’ll find a staggering quantity of wildlife in the shadow of Mount Kenya. Staying close to the beautiful Ewaso Narok River on Sosian’s 24,000-acre private working ranch, you can expect to enjoy a unique and quality game-viewing experience.
As well as rare and endangered species like Jackson’s hartebeest, oryx and Grevy’s zebra, the conservancy’s grassy plains and acacia woodland are home to gazelle, cheetah, buffalo, lion, giraffe and wild dog. Elephants can be seen here in their hundreds, whilst the region’s birdlife comprises over 350 different varieties. In addition to fantastic riding safaris on well-schooled horses, you’ll enjoy day and night game drives, bush walks, camel rides and fly camping. Fishing, kayaking and river swimming are also on the menu, as well as cultural visits to neighbouring villages.
