London – Nairobi
Your morning flight from London lands in Nairobi in the evening. You will be met upon arrival and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel.
Stay: One night in a superior room at Eka Hotel – bed & breakfast
Flying into Nanyuki from Wilson Airport, you will be met by a guide and driven to your luxury tented accommodation in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Here, in this uncrowded 90,000-acre wilderness overshadowed by Mount Kenya, you will find healthy numbers of elephant, lion, leopard and cheetah, as well as Kenya’s largest population of black rhino and rare species like the reticulated giraffe and Besia oryx.
Sharing the conservancy with few other safari vehicles, you can expect an exclusive and quality game-viewing experience. In addition to traditional daytime game drives, you will have the opportunity to enjoy interpretative bush walks, lion tracking, mountain biking and even night drives in search of more elusive, nocturnal species. Canoeing can also be enjoyed on the dam in front of camp, whose shores are visited by a variety of wildlife.
Stay: Three nights in a double tent at Kicheche Laikipia – full board
Your Kenyan experience culminates with a light aircraft flight deep into the Masai Mara, landing at the Mara Naboisho airstrip where your guide will take you to the Naboisho Conservancy. Visitor numbers are strictly controlled in this area, so you can expect to see a lot more animals than people – especially as the Mara itself has an abundance of game.
It hosts the annual migration of over one million wildebeest, zebras and gazelle, as well as providing year-round sanctuary to elephants, lions and any number of different plains species. In all, a fabulous passing parade of wildlife for you to watch on morning and evening game drives, in vehicles specially adapted for brilliant photography. Or on escorted savannah walks.
Stay: Three nights in a double tent at Kicheche Valley Camp – full board
