Letaka Private Mobile Safari, Khwai, Okavango Delta

Your private mobile camp is located in the game rich area of Khwai, just north of the Moremi Game Reserve. You’ll enjoy the exclusivity that comes with staying in a private concession – which means off road driving and a rich variety of wildlife. Wild dog, lion, leopard and hyena are all present in good numbers, in addition to plenty of plains game. Enjoy exploring the delta’s waterways in a traditional dugout canoe known as a ‘mokoro’.

Stay: Three nights on mobile safari with Letaka Safaris – full board

On day five you will be transferred by light aircraft to your camp on the banks of the spectacular Selinda Spillway. The open floodplains of the Okavango Delta and the riverine forests that line the spillway together form an irresistible magnet for the region’s wildlife. You can expect superb birding, sightings of giraffe, zebra, tsessebe and lion, and even rare species like wild dog and roan antelope.

Canoeing and walking are excellent, but one of the best ways to explore the reserve is on horseback. It’s a truly unique way to see game, and with well-schooled horses that are acclimatised to the area’s wildlife, you can often get fantastic close encounters.

Stay: Three nights in a double tent at Motswiri Camp – full board

Selinda Explorers, Linyanti

This morning you’ll take a light aircraft flight to the Selinda Concession in the Linyanti Region. You’ll enjoy a remote, wild location along the famous Selinda Spillway – the lifeline of the 320,000-acre Selinda Reserve. This floodplain system acts as a gathering point for the reserve’s wildlife, so you can expect glorious encounters with huge herds of elephants, buffalo, lion, wild dog, spotted hyena, sable and roan antelope.

From your ecologically sensitive camp under a canopy of riverine forest, you’ll head out on game drives, walks and canoeing trips. Night drives will take you to explore the eastern reaches of the reserve.

Stay: Three nights in a double tent at Selinda Exporers Camp – full board
