Famed for the resident giraffe that casually roam the grounds, the stately Giraffe Manor resides in a leafy suburb on the outskirts of Nairobi.

Aptly named, this is one of Kenya’s more unique boutique hotels. From your bedroom window, you might find yourself face-to-face with a wild Rothschild giraffe; they have freedom to roam throughout the gorgeous gardens and manicured lawns of this grand 1930s manor house. They spend their time cropping ivy from its gabled walls, and are known to pop their heads through the breakfast room windows in search of a treat, before retreating to their forest sanctuary next door.

When not feeding the giraffes, you can foray into the city or simply relax across the hotel’s sunny terraces and tranquil courtyards. Spread across the original manor house and a newer building, rooms are inspired by the style of a Scottish hunting lodge, with romantic four poster beds and antique furnishings throughout.
