Located on Fazenda Mumba near the Cubango River in Huíla Province, southern Angola, the lodge sits between fertile valleys, native forest and open savannah. Originally a tobacco drying facility dating back to the early 20th century, the buildings have been carefully restored, with former drying rooms transformed into spacious suites while preserving the original structure and materials. The atmosphere is natural, understated and deeply connected to the landscape.
Days unfold at a slower pace, shaped by nature and local culture. Guests can spend time by the outdoor pool, explore the estate on horseback or buggy, or head out on safari across neighbouring land. Encounters with local communities and evenings around the fire pit bring a deeper sense of place, while the surrounding wilderness keeps the focus firmly on the outdoors.
Dining is relaxed and immersive, often centred around the fire pit overlooking the river. Open-air dinners, storytelling and moonlight rituals create an atmosphere that feels both remote and welcoming.
