Set on the four-acre Motu Tautau off the western coast of Taha’a in the Society Islands archipelago, Le Taha’s Island Resort & Spa is one of the most exclusive resorts in French Polynesia. A member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux, this traditional Polynesian-style resort is an exceptional paradise hideaway in a magical setting, surrounded by glistening white sand and the sparkling turquoise waters of the South Pacific.
The resort has 12 Beach Villas and 48 Over Water Suites, largely constructed and decorated with natural materials. They are spacious, comfortable and beautifully appointed with Beach Villas having a separate living area and private swimming pool, and Over Water Suites a spacious lounge and terrace and a private deck with direct access to the lagoon. All have the kind of accessories expected of a luxury resort. Certain Over Water Suites enjoy spectacular views of neighbouring Bora Bora or the magnificent daily sunsets.
There are three restaurants and two bars. La Plage, located by the pool and beachside provides casual dining, whilst the main restaurant, Vanille, and the fine dining restaurant, Ohiri, are set in the heart of the resort among the trees. Regular beach barbecues and Polynesian evenings with entertainment are held.
Other amenities include a fresh water pool and the Manea Spa, which nestles in the shade of a coconut grove and offers unique massage treatments. A variety of activities include tennis, Petanque, sea kayaking, wind surfing, outrigger canoeing and a wide variety of jeep safari and boat excursions. A highlight here is diving on the reef with its incredibly rich, varied and colourful marine life. The resort has a PADI/CMAS dive centre that offers courses for all levels, and arranges a variety of dive excursions.
