It sits right on the Great Barrier Reef, so naturally is a wonderful location for swimming in turquoise waters and diving amongst a myriad of multi-coloured fish. The resort itself is just a stroll away from the white-sanded beach, an important nesting site for green and loggerhead turtles, whilst the tropical interior hosts numerous birds including the black noddy and the island’s namesake, herons.

The resort has a variety of accommodation options ranging from comfortable Turtle Rooms nestled in tropical gardens to spacious suites with direct beach access. For those seeking total seclusion, the resort also offers a private beach house with its own boardwalk to the beach, plus a large living area, private patio and outdoor shower. All rooms have either a balcony or terrace, so all guests are able to sit back and drink in mesmerising sunsets.
