D’ Santos Boutique Hotel, Carazo

Wake up and smell the coffee – and listen to the birds. D’Santos Boutique Hotel is part of a working coffee plantation, set in a certified private wild reserve.

The freshest-tasting coffee you’re ever likely to find? Quite possibly. D’Santos is a tiny boutique hotel with just seven guest rooms and suites, set in the middle of an established coffee plantation. So the hand-picked coffee is superb – especially as it’s accompanied by the morning chorus from any number of exotic birds.

As well as being on a plantation, this hotel is set in the Concepcion de Maria’s Certified Private Wild Reserve, giving you the chance to turn your luxury, tailor-made holiday to Nicaragua into a wildlife-watching adventure. On your doorstep you’ll find a vast array of different plant species, ranging from rare trees to ornamental flora, grasses and lianas. You’ll encounter a host of local mammals, numerous species of birds, amphibians like brightly coloured frogs, reptiles and fascinating insects.
