Your journey starts in Beijing, where you will stay at the Hotel Cote Cour which is centrally located in the historically-protected hutong area of “Old Beijing”. The boutique hotel's 14 rooms, lounge and courtyard capture the spirit of “East meets the West” fusing contemporary amenities with traditional Chinese designs and architecture. Spend a full day taking in the highlights of Beijing, from the vast Tiananmen Square to the Gate of Heavenly Peace and the Forbidden City. After enjoying a lunch of delicious regional cuisine, you will visit the opulent Imperial Summer Palace.

Next, visit The Great Wall and The Ming Tombs where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside and allow yourself to be fully immersed in China's rich ancient history. Back in Beijing you will explore the magnificent Temple of Heaven, the unique Pearl Market the charming small lanes and courtyards of Hutongs, old Beijing.

A flight will transfer you to China's Yunnan Province where you will be staying at The Banyan Tree in Lijiang. A luxury property nestled in private gardens, and sitting 2400 metres above sea level, the stunning views from the villas look out over Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. In Lijiang you will visit the fascinating Old Town of Dayan where a guide will bring to life the area's intriguing history and its indigenous Dongba culture. Lijiang's surrouding countryside can be explored by road, foot or even horseback, and hosts mountains, Wenhai Lake, and small traditional villages reminiscent of a China from many years ago. The scenery to the North of Lijiang is exceptionally stunning and here you can see the Yangtze River and The Tiger Leaping Gorge which is set amongst cliffs of almost 4,000 metres on either side.
