Cinnamon Wild, Yala National Park

For once, a beautiful beach beside the Indian Ocean isn’t the main attraction. Because Cinnamon Wild is also on the edge of Yala National Park.

Spanning 10 acres of jungle and coastline, this beautifully low-key resort is an animal lover’s delight. Here, you’ll begin your day with a safari through one of Sri Lanka’s foremost wildlife reserves, followed by an afternoon lazing beside the Indian Ocean and an evening revelling with new-found friends. You can even take night drives to meet Yala’s nocturnal wildlife, whilst romantic dinners are set up on a deck, right by a lake, under a starry sky. You’ll sleep in spacious, air-conditioned chalet in the verdant grounds or just steps from the Indian Ocean

Grey lemurs are regularly spotted at the resort. In fact, if you stay at Cinnamon Wild on your luxury, tailor-made holiday to Sri Lanka you’re likely to meet other wild guests, including elephants and wild boar who are frequent visitors to the pool area. Even leopards have been known to stroll over from nearby Yala National Park. But you don’t have to wait for them to call on you – Cinnamon Wild specialises in great safaris, as well as offering a superb beach.

Other itineraries in Sri Lanka

  • We have travelled with TUTC six times, the most recent was to New Zealand last year. The trip was very well organised as usual, with excellent accommodation and a wide variety of experiences. We had booked to go to Australia with them this year but due to Covid this was cancelled, Ultimate handled the situation very professionally and promptly refunded the whole of our deposit without any quibble.
