MOST IMPRESSIVE WILDLIFE
An authentic Patagonian farmhouse on the wild and untamed Atlantic coast of northern Patagonia. El Pedral offers its guests quaint and characterful accommodation, with some of South America’s most impressive wildlife, right on its doorstep.
The property dates back to 1923 and still maintains the character and aesthetics of that time. In fact walking through the farmhouse, you will see materials and furniture which were brought from Europe at the turn of the century.
El Pedral is located in Punta Ninfas, on the southern edge of the Golfo Nuevo and around 2 hours from the closest airport of Trelew. The region is famous for wildlife, with Southern Right Whales, Orcas (Killer Whales), Elephant Seals, Magellanic Penguins and various other birds and mammals found in the area.
The staff of El Pedral have created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests and the farm has lots of cosy spaces to make yourself feel at home.
There are eight rooms, each with en-suite and divided between the main house and the guesthouse. The rooms are comfortable and like most things at El Pedral, have been relatively unchanged to maintain the character of the farm.
Meals are eaten ‘family style’ with other guests and the menu includes Patagonian specialities such as homemade empanadas, hearty salads and traditional lamb roasted on a split.
Days are spent exploring the wild scenery surrounding the estancia, including the cliffs, beaches and the lighthouse which overlooks the bay. Whale watching trips can be organised from nearby Puerto Pirámides or you can explore the on site museum. There are trails taking you through the Steppe or for those looking to relax, the estancia has an outdoor pool and is known for its afternoon tea and Welsh cakes!
