Trans-Siberian Rail Journey, Russia

Trans-Siberian Rail Journey, Russia Trans-Siberian Rail Journey, Russia
£

The longest, most involved rail journey on Earth. And definitely one of the most spectacular; across time zones, cultures and countries the size of continents.

Nine thousand and one kilometres. From Moscow to Beijing. Or only 7865 km if you take a short cut through Mongolia! And in all that distance the train only stops for 20 minutes at a time. You, of course, will stop for longer, and catch another train later. So you have the chance to discover the places where planes don’t land, where roads barely reach. The remote regions of the Russian Steppes; the forgotten isolation of the Southern Gobi Desert of Mongolia; the encampment of Ghengis Khan; the vastness of Siberia; the rural provinces and cultural richness of China itself. The scope for exploration is wider than the rail journey is long. And it can be as broad as you like, by planning an itinerary that gives you a personal Trans-Siberian expedition.
