Tree of Life Grand Oak Manor, Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary

Enjoying an idyllic location in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, this mountain top hideaway treats its guests to old world charm and a chance to reconnect with nature.

Perched in splendid isolation and surrounded by a luxuriant forest reserve, Grand Oak Manor is the very image of a British colonial retreat. Built over 150 years ago by a relative of the Viceroy of India as a private mansion, its original features, décor and atmosphere have been largely retained to this day. Black and white photographs from the property’s Victorian heyday adorn the lounge, where modern day guests can unwind and enjoy the serene mountain views.

Lined along high ceilinged corridors, the 11 rooms are elegantly appointed with teak furnishings and plush fireside armchairs. Expect spectacular views of either the Binsar Valley or the Himalayas. Old world service is still very much the order of the day. The food is classic and cooked fresh, the cutlery is monogrammed and the furnishings are of the period.

During your stay, village visits, excursions to temples and guided nature walks through the beautiful forest will help you get in touch with the wonderful surroundings.
