This palatial Sri Lankan villa indulges every modern luxury, with a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the surrounding countryside. It has just nine suites and private verandas so you can be as peaceful and relaxed as possible.

A stylish refuge just outside of Kandy, the boutique Kandy House is more akin to a private home where personal service and attention to detail are of the highest order. Originally built for the last chief minister of Kandy, this 200-year-old manor still retains all of its former grandeur and captivating historical charm. With the treasures of the Cultural Triangle and Tea Country at your feet, it’s a great base from which to discover Sri Lanka.

Modern refinements are seamlessly blended with elegant antique furniture and local fabrics in the bedrooms, all of which are named after Sri Lankan butterflies. Some have access to a private veranda furnished with chaise lounges and reading chairs. In the gardens, you’ll find a hillside swimming pool with mesmerising views across the rice paddy fields. An Ambalama above the greenery provides a serene space for a massage or spa treatment. When it comes to dining, you’ll choose from a menu that includes both traditional ten-dish Sri Lankan curries and mouth-watering fusion dishes. Ingredients are sourced fresh from local markets.
