Little Shemogue Country Inn, New Brunswick

Overlooking the sea near Port Elgin in New Brunswick, the Little Shemogue Inn provides a charming base for an array of outdoor adventures.

Located on a secluded ocean bay, within walking distance to a private sandy beach, Little Shemogue was built in 1859 and still retains many of its original features. The historic inn features four spacious suites tastefully furnished with early Canadian and European antiques, whilst the newer annex - connected to the main inn via a wooden footbridge across one of the inlets - contains a further four rooms with fireplaces and whirlpools. All provide a private and intimate atmosphere, as well as superb views of Shemogue Harbour or the surrounding woodland and gardens.

The inn itself is celebrated for its warm service and particularly for its cuisine, which comprises everything from sumptuous four-course meals to delightful beach picnics prepared daily by the owner Janine Wenzel.

With cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking, canoeing, bicycling and birding in the warmer months, you won’t find yourself short of things to do whilst staying at the Little Shemogue. Located just minutes from the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island, it’s a great base for anyone exploring Canada’s Maritime provinces.
