A bit about me:

I have been working at The Ultimate Travel Company since 2005 and during this time I have certainly made the most of travel opportunities… from comparing the beaches of the Indian Ocean, the souks of the Middle East to the Lodges of Eastern Africa. When travelling I love trekking and wide open spaces, whether that’s walking safaris, remote camping or hiking in the mountains. I am also keen to swim around the world and I have been lucky enough to swim in some of the largest and most beautifully located pools in the world! I feel very privileged to have visited and stayed in some of the places I have on my travels. During my travels for work, I know that I have always be in the best of hands – whether a considerate driver, knowledgeable guides, efficient transfers, staying at camps or hotels in the most incredible locations – which in good so that I know our clients will have the best possible and hassle free experience.

My favourite place

Watching the sunrise or sunset in the pagoda fields of Bagan in Burma, truly the most spectacular colours in this culturally rich country.

My favourite hotel

It would have to be Mombo Island – arriving here I felt like I was arriving in a wildlife paradise, there is some of the most incredible game viewing here.

My most memorable experience

Schoeman Skeleton Coast Safari in Namibia – you fly to the remotest and otherwise inaccessible places in this incredible country, a spectacular and ever changing landscape. Each of the pilots has a huge depth of knowledge.

My top tips are

  • Stay in Room 1 at Birkenhead House in Hermanus, for the spectacular sea views
  • Hang out with the meerkats in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans of Botswana
  • Don’t miss the breakfasts at Soneva Fushi in the Maldives
