Explora El Calafate sits within the Chorrillo Malo estancia, close to Lake Argentino and around 30 kilometres from the town of El Calafate, Argentina. Its setting gives guests access to the wider Los Glaciares region, with open pampas, distant mountains and glimpses of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
The lodge has 20 rooms, with architecture by José Cruz Ovalle and interiors that use natural materials, organic forms and broad windows to connect with the surrounding steppe. Accommodation is divided between Standard Rooms of 28 square metres and Suites of 42 square metres, both designed in Explora’s simple, comfortable lodge style.
