A holiday in Colombia offers an intriguing mix of ancient cultures, colonial towns, coffee plantations and beautiful Caribbean beaches.
Start your Colombia holiday in the bustling capital of Bogota, where you will visit the world famous Gold Museum and the mountain of Monserrate. From here you will travel north to the picturesque Andean town of Villa de Leyva via the salt cathedral at Zipaquira (a true feat of engineering).
Next a short flight from Bogota to Pereira in the heart of the coffee zone to see the one of the plantations and to taste the coffee of course. There is also a day trip to neighbouring town of Filandia and the Valle de Cocora to see the amazing wax palms trees that can reach a height of 60m.
Afterwards we travel overland to Medellin for a tour of the city and also a side trip to the beautiful colonial town of Santa Fe de Antioquia. Getting there involves travelling over one of the first suspension bridges in South America.
Finally we end our Colombian journey in one of the most enchanting Latin American cities in South America – Cartagena. Here you will have a half-day city tour which includes visits to the Monasterio, Iglesia de la Popa, San Felipe Fortress. Then a free day to relax or explore before you fly back to the U.K.
