Monasterio, A Belmond Hotel, Cusco

There is history in the very stonework of the Belmond Hotel Monasterio. Originally the site accommodated the Inca Amaru Qhala’s grand palace before it was converted, at the turn of the 17th century, to a Seminary by the conquering Spanish. That extraordinary building was restored in 1965, to become a magnificent hotel.

Put the Monasterio on the itinerary of your luxury, tailor-made holiday to Peru and you’ll be staying in a historic landmark that is protected by Peru’s National Institute of Culture. You’ll also enjoy one of the country’s foremost hotels; featuring grand entrance doors, a Baroque chapel with saintly pictures framed in gold and a central courtyard with a fountain and a 300 year old cedar tree. Not to mention just about every modern refinement and luxury.
