Discover three completely contrasting Thai experiences; from Bangkok’s hectic nightlife to serene culture in Chiang Rai and ultimate beach-lazing in Khao Lak.

There are many ultimates to be found in Thailand, and this Classic Thailand tour takes you to three of the most unforgettable, and the most contrasting. You’ll begin in Bangkok with its enormous shopping and sight-seeing potential; the teeming streets of Chinatown, the fabled Patpong Night Market and the city’s unrivalled nightlife.

Next you’ll be able to immerse yourself in the culture, the arts and crafts, the temples and palaces and historic atmosphere of Chaing Mai. Continue to Kanchanaburi, home to the Bridge on the River Kwai, a sad reminder of the atrocities suffered during World War II.

Then, greatest contrast of all, you’ll be able to laze on the fabulous, palm fringed beaches of Khao Lak.

    Day 1-3 London - Bangkok
    London - Bangkok

Arriving in Bangkok in the early morning, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. You’ll be perfectly placed to enjoy all that this sprawling metropolis has to offer, whether it’s wandering around the eclectic markets, visiting gleaming temples or exploring the network of canals known as The Klongs. Floating along the Chao Praya River in a long tail boat, you’ll also see an open-air kick-boxing school, a local elementary school and a Burmese style Chedi. Your tour will also take you to see the city’s vast and beautiful Flower Market.

Stay: Two nights in a deluxe room at Ariyasomvilla – bed & breakfast

    Day 5-7 Chang Mai

Today you say goodbye to the bustle of Bangkok and fly to the ancient Kingdom of Chiang Mai – gateway to the treasures of northern Thailand. With over 300 temples and monasteries, in addition to countless night markets and street stalls, there is much to be discovered.

With your private guide you’ll visit the 14th century Wat Doi Suthep, a magnificent monastery reached by a staircase of 290 steps. Then it’s on to the biggest market in the city – Waroros Market – before finishing with fascinating visits to Wat Chedi Luang and Wat Phra Singh.

Your last day in Chiang Mai will include a tour of the local produce market and a tranquil cruise aboard a bamboo raft through the picturesque countryside. There’s also time to venture further afield to traditional hill tribe villages hidden in the jungle.

Stay: Two nights in a Rin Terrace Suite at Raya Heritage – bed & breakfast

    Day 6-8 Chiang Rai
    Chiang Rai

On the morning of the sixth day you’ll be driven to the lush province of Chiang Rai. This fairytale-esque region is not only home to mesmerising mountain scenery but magnificent temples and some of Thailand’s oldest civilisations, each with their own unique culture and customs. From your superbly placed hotel you can head out to explore the surrounding hills and forests – set in the heart of the Golden Triangle – by biking, trekking or even on an elephant safari.

Stay: Three nights in a deluxe river room at The Riverie by Katathani – bed & breakfast

    Day 9-13 Khao Lak
    Khao Lak

Today you will take a flight to Phuket where you’ll end your holiday at the enchanting Sarojin resort in Khao Lak. Here you will be surrounded by natural attractions, including lush rainforest and an 11km white sand beach lapped by the sparkling waters of the Andaman Sea.

Your time here can be spent exploring limestone caves, trekking to waterfalls, lounging on picture-perfect beaches, swimming and scuba diving in the famous Similan and Surin Islands Marine Parks. Back at the resort, you’ll enjoy incredible dining experiences, warm, attentive service and rejuvenating treatments at the spa.

Stay: Five nights in a garden residence at The Sarojin – bed & breakfast

    Day 14-15 Phuket - Bangkok - London

Today you will fly back to Bangkok from Phuket for your connecting flight to London Heathrow.
