USA

Stare in disbelief into the Grand Canyon. Or stand in Grand Central and rubber-neck up at the Chrysler Building. From these perspectives it’s easy to see why the legend of ‘bigger and better in the USA’ was born.

Actually, it’s not a legend. The United States of America is both bigger and better than most places on Earth. And Jo Abbott, one of our in-house America experts, will show you ample proof of that when you talk to her about a holiday to the States.

Jo will introduce you to places that ‘put the great in Great Outdoors’. Monument Valley, Yellowstone National Park, Baja California, Big Sur, the Rockies, Death Valley, Colorado in fall, the Mojave Desert, the Everglades, Texas. No need to describe them, just say the names to yourself and they will call you.

Of course, the States has some interesting towns too. Sophisticated, visually stunning, ceaselessly moving New York. The circus that is Las Vegas. The trams of San Francisco. The music of New Orleans. The art and industry of Chicago. The history of Boston, Lincoln and Washington DC.

Ask Jo to include some driving in your itinerary – she knows where to go and when - and even America’s roads assume a romantic significance. State 101 along the West Coast to LA, or Route 66 anyone?

Have a nice holiday!
