Uganda is rightly known as “The Pearl of Africa” with its unspoiled rainforest, roaring Murchison’s Falls and abundant wildlife. But very little rivals the experience of tracking mountain gorillas through the verdant foliage of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, one of its last remaining refuges.
Be prepared for some tough walking through one of Africa’s oldest jungles, but the reward of getting to within touching distance of these majestic creatures, who share some 97.7% of our DNA, is incomparable. And it’s not just primates that make a home amidst Bwindi’s jungle-shrouded hills. Keep your eyes peeled for forests elephants, bushbuck and some of the most colourful butterflies and birds on earth.
