From here you can sail off to Desroches, a stunning strip of palm-fringed coral roamed by hundred-year-old giant tortoises, or venture to the birdwatcher’s paradise of Praslin Island. On some islands, like Denis, traditional life prevails with bicycles and horses still used to get around.
