CLOUDS LODGE COMMANDS STUNNING VIEWS
Perch on a forested ridge, Clouds Lodge commands stunning views that stretch all the way to the Virunga Volcanoes of Rwanda. The lodge itself was built in partnership with the local community with the goal of protecting the habitat of the endangered mountain gorilla. Guests can observe these rare primates at a close distance on exciting gorilla trekking excursions, with forest walks and birding expeditions also available. You’ll also have time to simply unwind amidst the relaxed surroundings, indulge in massages and enjoy trips to the local community.
Guests are accommodated in eight cottages, each crafted out of local volcanic stone and adorned with the paintings of Ugandan artists. With cosy fireplaces, overstuffed armchairs to sink into and private butlers on hand, they provide a welcome retreat after a hard gorilla trek.
The main stone building is equally inviting with its soaring ceilings, exposed timber beams and sheltered veranda from where you can admire the sensational views. Dining is another highlight, with meals prepared using fresh local ingredients and produce from the organic garden.
