Chisa Busanga Plains, Kafue National Park

‘Chisa’ is the Nyanja word for ‘bird nest’, which is the inspiration behind the design of each of the four luxurious rooms. Built to resemble the weaver bird nests that adorn the terminalia trees around the Busanga Plains and set four metres off the ground, each of the cosy cocoons are lined in canvas tenting with a private outdoor deck, an en-suite bathroom and a king size bed with perfectly soft linens. All of the rooms have a silent, healthy and sustainable cooling system over the bed, so that you can sleep with a relaxing evening breeze, and wake up to watch the sunrise across the panoramic views of the Busanga Plains and the natural watering hole just in front of the nests. Each room can be accessed by a path of wooden steps and one of the nests has its own electric lift.
