Guests can expect a prime location mere minutes from the majestic Southern Alps and World Heritage-listed Westland Tai Poutini National Park. The famous, 12-kilometre-long Franz Josef glacier is on the doorstep, as well as activities like heli-hiking, nature walks, scenic flights and white water rafting. Set in a beautiful bush garden with views of the forest and mountains, the lodge itself is architecturally styled to reflect its environment, with the warmth of natural timber throughout.

Its spacious suites are superbly comfortable, and provide a welcome retreat after a day of activity with their plush king beds and stylish, underfloor-heated bathrooms. All feature a private deck area where you can relax surrounded by the lodge’s pretty gardens. The guest lounge, where a delicious continental and cooked breakfast is served each morning, is an enticing place with its cosy log fire and impressive views. There is no restaurant onsite; however, a choice of local restaurants and cafés is only a short drive or walk away.
