AN EXCLUSIVE-USE COUNTRY RETREAT IN LAIKIPIA
Situated amidst the 32,000 acres of the private Borana Conservancy, on the edge of a plateau, lies the exclusive-use family home of Laragai House. Surrounded by some of the most spectacular views of the Lolokwe and Wamba Mountains to the north and Mount Kenya to the south, Laragai House is the ultimate luxury escape for a group of friends or families who are looking an intimate and secluded safari experience in northern Kenya.
As the ideal home-away-from-home, Laragai House is comprised of eight bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, four of which are double bedrooms and four are twin rooms. The House is equipped with a spacious dining room, bar, drawing room, pool house, TV room, and a games room, offering plenty of space to relax between exciting wildlife viewings.
Sprawling for over 32,000 acres, this private conservation area is roamed by the likes of elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, leopard, striped hyena, Grevy’s zebra and both black and white rhinos. Birds are also in abundance, with some 350 recorded species.
Wildlife viewing can be enjoyed on foot, in open vehicles and even on horseback, where experienced and novice riders both welcomed. Rhino tracking is a particular highlight, and a great way to learn more about these endangered species whose numbers have flourished in the area in recent years. Quad biking, overnight fly camping and helicopter trips to Mount Kenya can also be arranged, whilst the conservancy’s wildlife-friendly dam is perfect for fishing and stand-up paddle boarding. With a waterhole located close to the house, you may prefer to watch wildlife roaming the lands from the comfort of your own room.
